Everybody's favorite Welsh soccer team is returning to FX and Hulu as Season 2 of "Welcome to Wrexham" is set be released this fall.
The docuseries follows Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as they navigate running the third-oldest professional soccer club in the world.
"'Welcome to Wrexham' is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town's historic yet struggling football club," according to FX.
Reynolds and McElhenney teamed up to purchase the club in 2020 in the hopes of "turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for," according to FX.
The finale of the first season chronicled Wrexham's epic 5-4 defeat against Grimsby Town in the promotion playoff semifinal. It marked the fourth time they fell short in the National League playoffs, including multiple extra-time losses.
Season 2 of the show is expected to feature the promotion of the club to League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system.
In April, Wrexham notched a dramatic 3-2 win over Notts County that featured a stoppage-time penalty kick save from goalkeeper Ben Foster. In the next game, Wrexham beat Boreham Wood 3-1, clinching the club's first promotion in 16 seasons.
Here's what you need to know about the second season of "Welcome to Wrexham."
