Fantasy football rankings for Week 17: Healthy QBs hold keys to championship quest

2024-12-24 02:33:40 source: category:My

It's often said the NFL season is mostly a war of attrition. There's no better example than at quarterback, where seemingly half the league has been forced to turn to a backup. Hopefully, your team has all its key players upright and healthy as you play for a championship.

Fantasy football rankings for Week 17 are based on the point-per-reception (PPR) scoring used in most seasonal and daily fantasy football formats. One point is awarded for every 10 rushing and receiving yards and one point for every 20 passing yards. Six points are awarded for touchdowns scored, four points for passing TDs and one point for receptions.

Rankings are compiled by Daniel Dobish, TheHuddle.com.

Fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 17

  • Trevor Lawrence has played through multiple injuries this season, but his latest -- a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder -- may be too difficult to overcome. He's questionable for Sunday.
  • Brock Purdy left Monday's game with a neck stinger, but is expected to be fine for a juicy matchup vs. the Commanders.
  • C.J. Stroud (concussion) is expected to return to practice this week after missing the past two games.
  • The Broncos have opted to start Jarrett Stidham over Russell Wilson against the Chargers in what's being called a "football decision" by the team.
  • Sleeper pick: Derek Carr has tossed three TD passes in each of his last two games and will be facing the NFL's worst pass defense.

Fantasy football running back rankings for Week 17

  • Isiah Pacheco (concussion) didn't practice on Wednesday and is in danger of missing Sunday's game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is in line to get the bulk of the backfield touches if Pacheco is out.
  • Josh Jacobs has missed two games with a quadriceps injury, but could return this week. He's also been dealing with an undisclosed illness.
  • Sleeper pick: Ezekiel Elliott thrived last week in PPR formats with nine receptions on 11 targets. If Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) is out again or even limited, Zeke could post a repeat performance.

Fantasy football wide receiver rankings for Week 17

  • Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) and Michael Pittman (concussion) both missed last week's game and are in danger of missing another. Both need to take major steps in the next few days to have a shot at playing.
  • DJ Moore missed some time Sunday when he rolled his ankle, but he returned to the game and doesn't carry an injury designation this week.
  • Courtland Sutton entered the concussion protocol after taking a hit in the first half of last week's game. Even if he returns this week, he gets a downgrade with Jarrett Stidham taking over at quarterback.
  • Sleeper pick: Tee Higgins has 201 receiving yards and three touchdowns over the past two weeks. He should see plenty of targets against the Chiefs, especially with Chase limited or out.

Fantasy football tight end rankings for Week 17

  • T.J. Hockenson's season-ending knee injury is a huge blow for the Vikings -- and fantasy managers. Josh Oliver figures to see more targets in Hockenson's absence.
  • Cole Kmet left Sunday's game early with a knee injury and did not practice on Wednesday.
  • Sleeper pick: Chigoziem Okonkwo posted season highs in receptions (six) and receiving yards (63) last week in addition to scoring his first touchdown of the season. The Texans give up the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends.
